Hi Nina, tell us something about yourself.
I am 20-year old student from Belgrade and I would like you to get to know me better through my photos and following responds, since I don’t like to talk a lot about myself. Oh, there it is, something about myself.
Why did you choose analog photography?
Digital simply never caught my attention. I am interested in learning the whole process, from the idea to photographic processing. I have always felt a sentimental longing for some past times I’ve never lived in, nowadays people distanced from each other a lot. Photography helps me feel and keep the connection with the real world around me. In fact, use of film, as well as development of my own photos help me heal the nostalgia I feel.
What do you like to photograph?
Mostly people outside on the streets.
Which cameras and films do you use?
I like to experiment with different cameras rather than stick to one. From Smena 8m, through Olympus mju II and OM2, to Flexaret II. When it comes to films, I usually go with the cheap ones, such as Fuji c200, ilford delta, hp5+ or different old rolls I usually find on flea market. Speaking of the medium format, my favorite is Kodak portra 160.
What kind of photographs you like to take?
Honest. I don’t like to set up and adjust the scenery and the people. I like to adapt camera to the situation.
Do you have a favorite photographer?
My favorite photographers are all those whose photos I’m able to sense.
A photo should…
Speak for itself.
